Welcome everyone. We have something new at the Richard Association of New Brunswick. With the coming of the Congrès mondial Acadien this summer and a new board of directors at the association, we decided to launch a brand new website including which will include some blogs once in a while. Take a look and let us know what you think.I am also taking the opportunity to invite you to visit the CMA2019 website and register for our Richard family reunion which will be held on August 19th at the Shediac Multipurpose Center. Check out our program for the day. Come meet us to discuss genealogy, meet relatives, participate in a conference given by Zachary Richard, listen to some great music and have a great authentic Acadian supper.

I will not be attending ceremonies this summer but it is not because of lack of interest. My connection to Richard’s is through my grabdfather whose mother was Pelagie Richard, the daughter of Pierre Luc Richard and Marie Tharsile Barrieau. Pelagie married Michel Vautour Vautour, St. Louis de Kent, NB but she passed away when my grandfather was fairly young and he remarried. For whatever reason, I have never been able to find a photo of my grandmother. There was a photo placed at the Univerisity of Moncton, and it was believe by the donors that it was a picture of Pelagie but it is not but rather a photo of Michel Vautour’s second wife. Pelagie had siblings, one of them being her brother Mgr. Marcel Francois Richard and I have always hoped that someone in this large family of descendants would have a picture of her or a picture of the family of Pierre Luc Richard and Marie Tharsile Barrieau. Thank you very much for the comment and information. There will most likely be a lot for Richard from the St Louis de Kent area at the reunion. I will see if we can find anything out for you. Will keep you posted. I have taken note of your request.
