The Association des familles Richard inc. is organizign a trip to our ancestor’s homeland in spring 2020
The preparation for the organization of a trip to France to the country of our ancestors Richard is progressing well. The target date is between the end of May and the beginning of June 2020. Following discussions with some members and contacts with the travel agency, the proposed route would be as follows:
· Arrival in Paris and visit the city’s most popular place; a must if you come to France;
· Visit the Café Richard near Paris;
· Visit Normandy-Brittany (landing beach at Juno beach, the inevitable St-Malo and Mont-St-Michel, the ancestors Richard villages in Combourg and Auray);
· Visit to Charente Maritime (La Rochelle with inauguration of a plaque in honor of our ancestors who left from this place, St-Georges-des-Coteaux with inauguration of a plaque in honor of the ancestor Pierre Richard de Cap St-Ignace, visit other villages of Richard ancestors : Écoyeux, Hiers-Brouage, St-Léger);
· Visit of Bordeaux and a vineyard; we would return to Quebec either from Bordeaux or Paris.
It will be a journey both rich in tourist attractions, history and genealogy to visit the most beautiful corners of France.
This trip would have a duration of 11 days (10 nights). The price would be approximately $ 4,500 CAD per person in double occupancy and would include air transportation, 3 * or 4 * hotels, bus travel with a driver, admissions to some attractions, breakfasts and some other meals. Everything remains to be finalized with the travel agency at the beginning of the year 2020.
We are targeting a group of 20 to 25 people and already several people have expressed their interest.
It is therefore a call to those interested in this trip to contact us. This will be a trip where we will pay tribute to our ancestors and where we will discover the wonders of France.
Reserve your spring 2020 !
The interested parties can already contact our secretary Cécile to reserve their place, we want to limit to 25 people the number of participants.
