2016 General Assembly
The 22nd Annual General Meeting of the ARNB took place on Sunday, June 5th, 2016 at 2:30 pm at the Golden Age Club of St. Ignace. The meeting was chaired by Adrien Richard, its president. The minutes and the financial report were then read and adopted, followed by the report of President Adrien, who thanked the members for attending this annual meeting. He also thanked the members of the Board of Directors for their collaboration and a special thank you to the volunteer members of Saint-Ignace who are preparing the dinner that will follow the meeting. The head of the newsletter, Jean Richard, highlighted the presence at the meeting of Guy Richard of the Richard Family Association of Quebec. Guy, who is a historian, will publish a book next August titled “The Richards of America from the 17th to the 20th century”.
There was also the election of the members of the Board of Directors for the year 2016-2017 which will be composed of: President: Adrien Richard; Vice-President: Emile Richard; Secretary: Jean A. Richard; Treasurer: Josephat Thibault; Councillors: Aline Richard, Richard Denis, Laura Richard and Loretta Richard. The position of ex-president remains vacant. Thelma Richard will continue to serve on the Board of Directors as a non-voting member. The business meeting was followed by a powerpoint presentation by Denis Richard that explained how to do ones’ genealogy.
