Richard Reunion at the 2017 CMA
The RICHARD family meeting took place on August 23 and 24 in Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, specifically at Notre-Dame-du-Lac. Organized by the Association of Richard (Quebec) families, the meeting was very pleasant and the welcome warmest. There was, among other things, a conference by Mrs Diane Robert entitled Le Québec Acadien, Parcours historique.
In the afternoon, there were visits to Fort Ingal and the Aster Observatory. Finally, Saturday ended with a delicious supper and a lively evening of music.
On Sunday, a Mass at the nearby Church marked the closing of the CMA. Although the bus trip planned by the ARNB last March could not be completed due to a lack of registration, several members of the Association went to Quebec themselves to attend the meeting. . Among them were Bishop André Richard, Archbishop Emeritus of Moncton, and Father Alphonse Richard of Shediac, who also took part in Mass on Sunday mornings.

The 2014 Congrès Mondial Acadien
The World Acadian Congress (Congrès Mondial Acadien) was held for a period of seventeen days from August 8th to the 24th in three regions, namely Madawaska, Maine and Témiscouata in Quebec. In addition to various activities and family gatherings, there were three major outdoor concerts on August 9, 15 and 23 in front of thousands of spectators.
2014 Annual General Assembly
The 21st Annual General Meeting of the ARNB took place on Sunday, June 1st, 2014 at the Golden Age Club of Saint-Ignace. President Adrien introduced the members of the Board of Directors and thanked them for their participation in the activities of the Association during the year just ended. Secretary Jean Richard read the minutes of the general meeting of June 2, 2013 which was adopted. The financial report for 2013-2014 (May 1, 2013 to April 30, 2014) was presented. The cash balance as at April 30 is $ 1,491.75 including a membership share of $ 25 and an amount of $ 700.20 in the emergency fund. It was proposed and accepted that the contribution remain the same at $ 5 for 2014-2015. The Association currently has 215 members.
In his report, President Adrien reports that the Board of Directors held three meetings during the year. He thanked the members of the Board of Directors for their participation and support. He also thanked the volunteers who worked to organize this meeting and prepare the food. The head of the newsletter, Jean Richard says that two newsletters were issued to members, one in November and the other in May. He invited the assembly to point out to him the names of deceased members or of Richard who had made special mention so that he could mention them in the bulletin. The representative of FAFA, Thelma Richard, reminds the Federation organizes every year activities at the various monuments of the Odyssey to commemorate July 28th the great deportation of the Acadians and December 13 that of the Acadians of Ile Saint-Jean ( Prince Edward Island), where two of the three ships carrying the deportees were shipwrecked with many fatalities. The December 13th event will take place this year at the Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Church on the Université de Moncton campus.
There were then elections to fill four positions at the Board of Directors. Adrien Richard was re-elected as president Émile Richard as vice-president, Jean Richard as secretary and Loretta Richard as councillor.
The business meeting was followed by a presentation by the storyteller Yvette Pitre, who amused the audience with her stories.
The meeting ended with a fricot prepared by volunteer members of the Association.
