Description:

Pascal boards the ship from the past heading for Port-Royal in Nova Scotia. He began researching the history of French Canadians in northern America for more than 400 years. From their places of arrival. Of their incessant struggles to preserve their language and culture. He also begins searching for his maternal ancestors.
Upon his arrival in Port-Royal, Pascal met a nonagenarian native of Baie Sainte-Marie, with whom he maintained a sincere friendship throughout his stay. The great Joseph, as he is nicknamed here, decides to take him in. Grand Joseph starts each day with breakfast with Pascal. And under a resplendent sun, they enjoy long summer mornings talking about their origins.
Then, they set out to research the history of these women and men from Acadia, Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba, who fought to protect the language and culture of French Canadians on this land of America. At the end of each day, the great Joseph and Pascal take the time to write a short poetic text on what they discovered about the history of the French Canadians and the battles they led in the north of the America.
The great Joseph and Pascal also set out in search of a central value which would have marked the historical journey of French Canadians since their arrival in the New World. What does this trip have in store for them?
Philippe G. Hébert is originally from the Madawaska region. He completed higher studies in law, ethics, management, philosophy, social service and notarial law. He had a career in private business.
