Jolene Richard is the daughter of the former Chief Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of New Brunswick Guy A. Richard and Germaine Thériault.
She obtained her law degree from the Université de Moncton in 1993 and was a partner in the law firm Stewart McKelvey.
After practicing law for 15 years, Jolene Richard was appointed to the Provincial Court in November 2008.
In 2017, Fredericton appoints the first woman to head New Brunswick Provincial Court and achieves gender parity for the first time in its history at this level of the judiciary. Jolène Richard succeeds Chief Justice Pierre Arsenault on June 2, 2017.
Jolène is the spouse of Beauséjour federal Liberal MP Dominic LeBlanc.
